About Me

I believe in the value of working hard and working smart, delivering results, and providing a service that is uniquely tailored to each client's situation.  My career has been devoted to continuous learning, improvement, and growing my expertise in the areas of proposal development, negotiation, and contract management.  Because I excelled I was provided with ample opportunity to tackle the most challenging projects which required relocation to several company sites across several states and temporarily becoming a road warrior.  The challenge was what motivated me and I treated each opportunity as if it were one of great importance regardless of the level of visibility.  I share this with you because I believe the size of the project does not represent the importance.  I will treat each opportunity to support your organization with the highest priority and you will not be disappointed by the results.

If we have the opportunity to speak, you will hear me talk frequently about differentiation and value.  Every business has that special something that can be highlighted and magnified in a way to show a potential customer how they will be unable to live without you.  Let me help you unlock it.

Professionally: I am the consultant you will feel lucky to hire after you implement the proposed solutions I have waiting for your team.  Through careful and strategic collaboration I can help take your business to the next level by narrowing in on your strengths and weaknesses.

Personally: I believe family comes first.  I travel annually to visit with elder family members spread across the states.  I am a wife, a mother, a pet owner, an advocate for truth, and an explorer at heart.

The Meaning Behind the Name

'ami kai is a Hawaiian word for a sea creature that I deeply related with when branching out to start my own business; a shrimp.  After more than a decade of successfully climbing the corporate ladder working for and with Fortune 500 companies along the way, I found myself once again at the bottom of the food chain.  Instead of being a moderately sized fish in a somewhat small pond I am now a small shrimp swimming in a large pond surrounded by very large fish.  It has made every day more interesting than the last and I continue to enjoy the journey!

n. An amphipod (Caprellid amphipods) that clings to seaweed or hydroids; it has a long slender body and is the color of the seaweed or hydroid on which it feeds;  [Pukui, Mary Kawena, and Samuel H. Elbert. Hawaiian Dictionary: Hawaiian-English, English-Hawaiian. Honolulu: U of Hawaii, 1986. Print.]
